so i got the new chimera kit the other day and was disappointed to see it didnt come with track covers/Armour so i made a simple and reasonably good looking alternative

Yeah, it sucks you have to order a separate sprue just to get those. I picked up a chimera in pretty bad shape in a trade, and, after popping off the track covers, i realized why they were there. They had to go anyway, didn't fit well, alot of "flash" and too much glue. So, ordered the sprue anyway, can't wait to finish my griffon and salamander.

I used the plastic banding that you find on crates and other packages for armor plating on my IG vehicles. The diamond pattern on that stuff makes it look like steel plating and the width it comes in is perfect to cover the tracks on the tanks.
