Hey guys I'm looking to start Hordes, and play an army that has a strong buffing or enemy crippling focus. I also want an army that has a good number of warbeasts rather than infantry spam.

I am not a fan of Trollbloods or Minions but I like the other races. Any armies fit into my description?

Thanks.

It's a shame you don't like Trolls... They're good on the buffing of their own units. With Fell Caller Heros (prime and epic Grissel), the Fell Caller Character Unit, Krielstone Bearers + UA, the Stone Scribe Chronicler, and I think even the Runeshapers... all of those buff your trolls, and I know most armies include at least the Krielstone Bearers (nothing says good morning like +2 armor and the ability to give +1 strength or prevent continuous effects). I know my Trollbloods generally include the Bearers and the Fell Caller Hero...

Good luck in your search!

If you don't want to do Trollbloods, Skorne is pretty good at layering buffs as well. Skorne armies do a lot to pass around animi, most all their warlocks who like running warbeast heavy have something or another that goes great on a warbeast (Defenders Ward or Fury with Xerxis, Carnage wtih Makeda1, Leash and Road to War with Makeda2, Ashen Veil with Hexeris2 and so on). They also have great warlock-independent support in the form of Paingivers.

Legion of Everblight is able to run a lot of warbeasts, but actuallly has fewer "buffs" besides ways to deliver thsoe warbeasts. They don't have a lot to up hitting power save for a couple warlocks and they top-out fast there. Circle actually can't run as many warbeasts as Skorne and Legion and so runs a bit more combined-armsy.

So yeah, Skorne I think is the one you might find most to your flavor.

And stuff.

I'd echo Skorne as the likely choice.

There are a few Skorne casters that run very infantry-light: The starter set is a pretty good one to get, if that's your intention:

Morghoul is a good beast caster.

The Titan Gladiator is a staple of the Skorne army, most competitive lists have one.

While the cyclopes aren't great, they're decent and are forgiving for learning how beasts are run.

Okay so after more research I actually think i could like trollblooods. My question now is how effective is an elemental focused force. I really like the storm slag pyre winter and earthborne trolls

Earthborn is good. Pyre and Slag trolls are support beasts. Winter is not very liked by Trollblood players. Storm seems to depend on what you feel you need. Many lists do run Mulg and Bombers, and they require support in the "weapon" trolls more.

The most successful Trollblood lists run infnatry though, I will admit. They have amazingly good infantry and support models that only buff warrior models. They also have "okay" fury support, but they have a lot of low-fury warlocks and their fury support abiltiy winds-down after a point.

I still think based on your initial wants (buffs and beast-heavy) Skorne is actually the best to go. And I think their beasts are easier to run "themed" than Trollbloods tend to be, believe it or not.

And stuff.

I know Morgoul is a good beast runner but what about others? I was thinking eHexeris would be really good.

All of the skorne casters can run beast heavy, the fury management of skorne is so good. The question is what the casters can offer to the beasts to buff them or do the casters require infantry for some reason. For example Zaal's and pMakeda's feat require infantry to work etc. It is fairly common to see successful skorne list sport 3 heavies and couple of support lights.

eHexeris has some spells and abilities which buff beasts quite well and has fury to run a lot of beasts. I would think that you have no problem running him with 3 heavies and a drake for example.
