So can you target a champion for an attack?

And how do BSB work?

I'm learning the game, slowly but surely. lol

Yes, you can assassinate champions. In general, you probably should if you have the chance.

Any leadership test taken within 12 inches of a BSB may be re-rolled if it fails. That means break tests for losing combat, panic tests of any sort, and even unusual things like getting struck with weapons or having spells cast on you that make you take leadership tests. If it says "take a leadership test" you get two tries at it with the BSB nearby. It also grants you +1 to your combat score in the unit it is in.

Hope it helps.

IMO it is better to ignore a champion in a fight and just pound his unit

Or you're trying to get at another hero in the unit the champion is protecting (by accepting challenges in his stead).

You should always allocate one attack from your unit/character/monster/gribbly to go against the enemy Champion. If it succeeds you have less attacks back at you. If not then that attack wasn't going to do anything anyway, so nothing is wasted.
