I wanted to make one of my predators different... kind of a "command predator" type deal.

So I put a guy sticking out the hatch, intending him to be a sergeant or a captain. I'm not sure if I should leave his sword the way it is, or if it detracts from the model. Do you think it will draw too much attention, away from the detail of the tank itself? It would be easily replaced with a much more muted chainsword, or hell, I could probably find a pointing hand somewhere in my bits box. And if the idea of the sword is good, would a more... muted color work? Yellow/Orange stands out from the green a lot more than I thought it would when I was painting it.

On moon miranda.

It does look sorta awkward now, but it also looks like it might possibly work. If possible I'd see if you can finish most of the tank and captain up and see how it looks that way as it might come off better when there's more detail and some other contrasts.

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.

The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.

Yeah, you should finish the tank then see the finished piece before changing it, you could try and get a similar colour on the lights, then it wouldn't look so out of place

If it's the only splash of yellow/orange then I'd say keep it. It looks like it would be a brilliant accent to the model. Paint the hilt & guard some other color though.

This is the first thing I think of when I see the Predator:

Not sure if that's your intent.

that actually was my intent. That picture is awesome.

After looking at it for a while longer, again I'm not sure if I like it or not, but I'm starting to come around. I'll finish painting the tank. If I don't like it, I'll just pop guy out and use a standard hatch.

The orange on the Power Sword does immediately grab your eye since it's such a bright color when in contrast to the green.

Swords fine, but I would get rid of the shield. Why would he bring a shield onto the top of a tank? Makes him look like a ninny.

I agree with some of what was said before. Don't change it before your done. And also it would be a shame to lose such a beautifully painted sword. Just my 2cents.

The first think I thought of was the movie Predator. And I was wondering where a captain would stick out

Really nice airbrush work! The contrast of tank and sword works really well. The metals seem a bit to bright, maybe a black or brown wash? And I would paint the tracks - boltgun perhaps?

Cheers,

Also IMHO the white decals seem too bright as well
But great tank

Seconded. You need to sponge a little of the green over the decals to chip them.

To deflect those nasty armor piercing, anti-tank shots that miss the tank but hit the guy on top sticking his head out?

OP: Go with a different color on the guns. Having that brass/bronze/tin/whatever detracts from the effect of that sword. Wash the gun barrels with badab black at least and paint the brass stuff black. You don't want anything orangish other than the sword.
