I was llooking at the family tree of tyranids and after (I think) the ravener or trygon It came up with catachan devil! as far as I know the catachan devil is a giant alien scorpion (hint that tyranids resemble insects, worms , ants so why not arachnids!) should i make up some conversion for it?

For those whovians out there, I something planned.

Something big.

Yes, this is more of a 40K Discussion topic. I will move the thread.

Back on topic, a Tyranid army using a lot of conversion figures can be very good fun.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

I am curious, what are you going to "count it as"?

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

The Catchan Devil's been known to have been a Tyranid sub species for ages. The nids invading Catachan, causing it to rapidly grow all the flora, and being destroyed before they could actually harvest it is the reason why Catachan is a death world. A few chapter approved articles had Catachan Devil rules and tips on how to build them if your needing any tips on either. =P

Is this online by anychance since I doubt I will find the issue that it's in. I would love tips to make a Catachan Devil and have rules for it.

It was called Creature Feature or something along those lines. The particular article on Catachan Devils used to be on the games Workshop site under the modelling section (use a site that allows you to view the old versions of websites) circa 2008 or whenever GW choose to change their sites from the old format (when it wasn't just a marketing machine and had some great converting articles...and whack a tyranid game). You should be able to find the article if you just search the web for it. I believe that there should be a dedicated site out there appartaining to all the old Chapter Approved articles. =P

I would count it as a trygon or if It goes less snake-like then I wanted, a carnifex.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
OK. I have decided to go on with it, but it may take a long time to build. AND I do not have green stuff so to replace it I will use paper mache and clay, and we all know that takes ages to build with.

Now that I think about it, A mawloc would be more suitable.

In case that this is still of any relevance, I stumbled upon a "Catachan Devil" entry in WD #292, it's part of a Chapter Approved Creature Feature article on monsters and beasts. Also includes such fine specimen like the Barking Toad, the Enslaver or rules for Imperial Guard units using Xenos Mounts.

Was looking for something completely different, but I remembered this thread, so ... there ya go.
