So heres my first attempt with the Blood Angels codex. I am considering building a list like this after my current project is finished. I like this idea for an army because of the very low model count/ $ cost.
I've refined this list a couple times, but are there any glaring holes I've missed or is this a solid list?

I'll just point out I'm not a competitive player, I just want a well rounded fun list.
What will I have trouble with, with a list like this?

I like it! Except the Death Masks, but I don't know what else I'd give them. More Inferno Pistols perhaps?

I have had someone suggest that the other day, are they really not that good? They sound good on paper.

I think it'll be a fabulously hard list to play.

One volley of an executioner tank and most of your force could die. I'd seriously consider dropping some death masks and infernus pistols to fit a libby with Shield in there, that could save your squads in a pinch.

So I changed it up a bit to fit the Librarian in, I had to drop the pistols on the Priests and dropped 3 squads down to 1. I'm not sure about bringing my melta down so much. As far as the shield, isn't it only a 5+ cover?

Drop a priest fail masks and a squad for 3 vindicators. You need anti swarm and gk will slice through you

Chaos daemons 1850
Chaos Marines 1850
2250+

2500++ (Wraithwing)

I moved so starting from scratch. These were the armies I had, rebuilding my Chaos.

I would drop the power weapons on your priests to bring those infernus pistols back. Your entire army has power weapons; three less won't make a difference. Also, being IC, the priests tend to be singled out, so it's best to make them cheap (in my opinion).

As for the Librarian, it is only a 5+ cover, but that's better than 100% death against anything that ignores 2+ armor.

TOO MANY INFERNUS PISTOLS! NOT ENOUGH DREADNOUGHTS!

That pretty much sums up my feelings...

drop a squad and drop the pistols down to 1 per squad fit in three fast vindicators.

You'll thank us, trust me.

Except for the fact that at 2000pts, those Vindicators are going to be the target of every anti-tank gun his opponent has. That's a lot.

Although you do lack anti-horde. My advice would be the same as BronzeJon except instead of Vindicators, try to fit in 1 or 2 squads of Honour Guard with 4 flamers and jump packs. That way, you'll get more priests on the table and you'll at least have a fighting chance against hordes.

I have to say, Dreadnoughts are one of the most useful units in Codex : BA. A Furioso in a Drop Pod costs slightly more than a Vindicator, and with the same armour, they can be DEVASTATING if well placed, like the rest of the Sanguinary Guard. Blood Talons make great Anti-horde, and Blood Fits can quite easily rip apart tanks, and (IIRC) Furious Charge Makes them even stronger, forgive me if I'm wrong, but I can't find my codex right now...

This list is good for the low model/money count... But I'm pretty sure, pure Sanguinary Guard lists won't be very rounded and will be hard to play, much less being competetive.

Thats just my 2 cents, I hope you have fun tho!

If you have a bit of a search on google there are a couple of peeps who have actually used this type of list. I actually like lists like this because you only have a few models and a small case. Perfect for pick up and play. (If I had this army I would probably leave them in my car for quick games) - go build it
