Any ideas how to structure my army so it's based off of the oldschool necrons? You know, scary ass implacable killing machines with a good does of lovecraftian horror?
Before the great change, I had the idea of dedicating my guys to the void dragon...but now that seems silly cause he's a shard and all...

Well, that and the fact that I realized a logical inconsistency in the whole god-worship thing. I mean, necrons are meant to be highly scientific, right?

So far I have a couple of ideas

-No triarchs
-Deathmarks (no really, I think that they would accomodate the old fluff pretty damn well. They are what the Flayed Ones were intended to be : Terrifying assassins that could strike from anywhere at any time. Not to mention that in the warddex they are hated by the "honourable" folk..."
-Destroyers. Their "hate all life" stance is quite suitable.

And we are done.

Any suggestions

For the "implacable killing machines" try sticking a Phaeron Overlord with some Immortals with Gauss Blasters. Relentless rapid fire Gauss? I'll have some of that.

Necrons (W/D/L): 4/1/0
Reset with the new Codex.

Just about every new Necron unit can fit in with the old fluff that had Necrons as much more sinister/threatening than honorable/courageous. Triarch Praetorians may be honorable and allow enemies to live out of respect (which is idiotic), but you don't have to make them that way. I feel GW ruined the official Necron lore but fortunately there is still fanfluff.

I always thought that the metal tide was a good way to have a fluffly old fashion Necron army with Warriors out the cahoots

Gods? There are no gods. Merely existences, obstacles to overcome.

But how to make metal tide viable, I wonder? Ghost Arks behind them and a ResOrb in each unit, maybe?
Or maybe immortals...

That's how I wanted to make a silver tide, but Immortals won't work in a silver "tide" as their more expensive I i thought the max unit size was 10..........I don't remember, I've been focusing on my orks a bit more than my 'Crons lately....
