I understand that the winds are a better power for your squads then the bolt. I think it's because the bolt forces you to choose between high priority armor for your expensive spell or juicy infantry for your expensive bolster fire. I think people also think the winds can hit more kinds of things.
You picked the wrong fluff if you wanted to have a lot of models on the field. I might throw in an undivided squad in there for tank or mc dedicated killing or utility. They are really neatly costed. You are pretty good at shooting marines to death and being hit with anti meq weaponry, but I think you have enough of that at some point.

A few points I'd like to bring up from playing a Thousand Sons army.
As Lurce says you really want to give your Sorcerers Wind of Chaos as the Thousand Sons troops are anti infantry. Its really useful when you get out of a Rhino and you can just roast stuff.
I'd give the sorcerers melta bombs for anti tank.
I'd also not use terminator champions as its a waist of points unless you just had some left over.
The real problems the suns have is they are no good at popping tanks It might be an idea to put combi meltas on the rhinos.
Your prince is going to be a huge target for every heavy weapon on the table so make sure you use the most of the cover you have.

I see.... I seem to love army's that struggle to bust tanks =S
I see what you guys are saying about the Psyker powers I just thought 24" s8 ap1 was a better Idea for popping tanks but I guess It would be harder to bust av14 but then again you don't have to be as close but on the other hand I can shoot out of the top of the nippy rhino(Unlike untransportable Nids!!)
Wind of chaos really does make more sense......

Ive been reading into thousand sons alot over the last few days and I like what I see and hear.
Saw an epic TS Rhino which inspired me to buy the TS Rhino doors from forge world =D
Now just to figure out a way to make TS terminators.......
I like the size of your list there BlkTom but to my noobish mind it doesn't seem possible......

It is because I did not include the AS's cost. I have done this before, so it makes me want to kill Gav Thorp for his crappy lay-out of his damn codex. Every squad should be 37pts more than listed. Good eye.

1000pts Automatically Appended Next Post: Terminators should be suicided in with Combi-Meltas to take out vehicles in a 3 man squad. If you want to splurge, get a chainfist.
The reason for this is because CSMs do not have 'And they Shall Know No Fear'. This is a crippling factor for Chaos. Your Terminators will get swept off the board or run, as will Oblits, Havocs, Raptors, ect... The only real Icon of choice is Chaos Glory for the morale re-roll... and that doesn't make for very fluffy lists unless your Black Legion.

Hmmm, once its witted down to just 2 squads, it looks like a really small number of models even for a 1000 point army. Other than your twin DP and Predator, you only have 10 marines and 2 aspiring sorcerors.

1k Sons are so damned expensive points wise and GW wise i love the sons.
I personally say Drop Termies add some more 1k squads or a squad of obliterators
Termies offer "decent" anti tank at 1k with various weapons and the unique marks but i find they just dont cut it so i typically have obliterators running around punching and shooting things in the face yes there are less of them but more anti t and anti i abilities and two wounds with 2 + and 5 +
As for the Sorcs BoC works wonders on everything.
Id also look into lash lists, you can still keep your 1k themed army just add a Slaaneshi Dp with lash (will give you a few more points back as well) this will allow you to pull units out of cover and shoot them with obliterators (defilers) or your sons so that unit can in turn be assaulted (not with sons) and you can make use of your ap 3,

I like the list with 3 troop choices more than any other, but I worry about all the psychic tests the poor Demons will be making. I'm still worried about how much you are paying for all your anti marine shots on units that you've also burdened with other jobs.
Either way It's pretty interesting! I wonder how well it would do against the popular specialized marine lists.

Thousand Sons really fold if they come in contact with the enemy, but not fast enough that you´ll be free to shoot whatever just charged them, so some kind of counter-charge-element is required I think. A Defiler is pretty expensive, but could fill that role:

It will my list is similar instead of defiler i have oblits and i usually mess my oponents up, defilers shouldnt be to much different just pray for hits with that blast temp lol

Played a carnage game with my list yesterday against DE SM and a Slaanesh CSM army with "Pain" marines.
Did pretty good and managed to get the win with 3 TS's and a sorcerer on the objective at the end with my mates Drazhar but there's no draws in our game and I won in sudden death =)

I am of the opinion the the DP needs to be taken over the sorcerer in every situation. Even if you cannot afford the wings (which I also think you MUST find room for).
I have no experience with TS, but I do know Tzeentch Princes and 2 psychic powers is too many. Warptime is plenty.
I liked the list with the 2 DPs, but these all seem viable. You should try each (proxy. it helps.) and find what works best for you.

I played another game last Sunday which was my second ever with CSM I changed my list a bit for fun...
Daemon Prince (Wings, MoT, Warptime) - 175

I won my second carnage game with my CSM!!!!!!
Ive played about 20 games with my tyranids and have only taken away 1 draw. Play 2 games with CSM and win both times.
Nids just fall short at 1000pts plus no transports and transports are the nutz!!!
Before you say I know I know its not fluff worthy as Khorne despises magic but Tzeentch is known to be a trickster so with 1 of my 3 TS rhinos filled with the blood gods children it can be a nasty surprise =)
Thinking of dropping the defiler and getting 2 obliterators(Once again I know Ahriman stopped the mutation and the oblits mutate)
