Yes. Only Troops can hold objectives - units from other FoC slots can only contest.
And Vehicles from the troop slot also cannot hold objectives.

So my storm troopers, Ogryn and Marbo cant take an objective. Damn. I had a nice list going, with Marbo on one objective and Ogryns on another. Well, the match ended in a draw pretty much. Oh well, back to the list drawing board.
Well, my blob of 30 regular guard got stuck in close combat for 4 rounds and I couldnt move them like I wanted to. My Ogryn were able to move to one, and Marbo came in close to one.
Just make sure the other guy doesn't hold any, and then contest everything.
