i am new to warhammer 40k. i need a an army at 1250 points or 1500 points. The army i really need to beat are necrons. so if you could gice me an army list of 1250 points or 1500 points based off the army i already have i would be great

You do not want to use the assault squad. Though necrons may hate them.
You want a different set up to your pred.
A librarian will most likely be a better HQ than your captain.

Basics are: picking transportation for your troops; Picking a favourite model to add.
Then making selections work around these two elements.

as a new necron player, here is what I fear in the SM codex at mid points levels (1250-1500)

Whirlwind hates my blobs and double hates my scarabs. All this while laughing at my night fighting. Anything with ordnance barrage hurts many necron plans.

Power weapons spam scares me. Fists or only a few, not so much, but lots of guys swinging ignore armor weapons before I get to go at I2 is scarey.

I have a healthy respect for Dreadnoughts and Missile Launchers.
