Hi guys quick question that came up on my game yesterday, I'm still new to fantasy so bear with me. Some time ago I bought the chaos lord on daemonic mount model because it looked awesome, and now that i finally started my fantasy army i decided to field him, however since the daemonic mount seems to just suck compared to any other mount (not even barded? wtf?), I decided to field it as a lord on a normal steed, however when we were checking some LoS a friend told me that if he is on a normal steed he uses the normal cavalry base therefore we assumed that the shot got through without cover.

So I was wondering is it stated anywhere which must be the base size for the lord? Why if it was a daemonic mount does its base is bigger than a normal steed even though it's unit type is exactly the same. Also if there is any restriction on the rule regarding the base sizes if an official model doesn't exists. And finally iirc there are no undivided mounted lords on the range of minis only marked ones, so am i allowed to use my daemonic mount one?

If you check the page in your warriors book that covers mounts you will see it states that the demonic mount is not on a calvary base but a chaos steed is.

You are 100% right, hehe never read those bold letters just went right to the mount stats and rules, oh well guess i'll have to move my lord to a cavalry base even thou i think it'll look horribly tight on it :s

Demonic mounts are pretty cool, in that they give a Str5 Stomp and some other attacks. Not being barded is a really strange thing, but otherwise they are pretty solid I think.

Interesting... didn't know the daemonic mount could stomp... that might be worth the extra points. If he can stomp thou that means he doesn't get LoS on a knight's unit right?

Thought so, I rather have 1+ sv and LoS with the steed , guess i'll just move the model to a cavalry base. It'll look small on it but from seeing the knight models they are also way to big for their bases

Too big, clearly you've never tried to fit a stegadon on it's base
