So I am playing in one of my first tournaments next month and I just wanted to check these points cost. Now I am 90% sure that an Ork Nob in a Boyz squad is the cost of a boy + the cost of the upgrade to the nob. But how about a painboy? Is it the cost of the Nob + the upgrade cost? Or just the cost of a painboy? And What about Snikrot?

All of the models you mentioned are Upgrade Characters, and all Upgrade Characters replace a normal model in the unit; so yes, each of them costs the upgrade cost + the cost of a normal model in the unit. Snikrot costs 100 points total, the Nob costs 16 points total (with no equipment) and a Painboy costs 50 points total.

Cool, just wanted to check. I seem to remember there being some controversy around Snikrot.

Snikrot is 85 points.

Note that he is not an upgrade to a model in the squad, his cost is not +85 points, he is a an additional model for 85 points.

(no idea how bezerker got to 100 points...)

Well now I'm confused, haha. Is this something that has an agreed upon conclusion? Or should I contact the TO to double check?

Wrong. Check the unit entry again; "Instead of a Nob, one mob may be led by Boss Snikrot for +85 pts".

Snikrot, like a Nob, is an Upgrade Character. He does not ADD to the mob, he REPLACES one member of the mob. Kommandos cost 15 points per model; the total cost of Snikrot, counting the Kommando he replaces, is 100 points.

Thank you. I was looking at the old version of the FAQ.

In that case, puma and rigeld are correct; Snikrot and Zagstruck, unlike Painboys and Nobz, are added to the unit rather than upgraded from a base model.
