Say you want to start the game with a tyranid prime attached to a unit of lictors. How then does this unit deploy? I see three options:

A. The prime gains the deployment rules for chameleonic skin.

B. The whole unit loses the rules for chameleonic skin and may be deployed as a normal unit.

C. The unit must start in reserve because of chameleonic skin, but must walk onto the table because the prime does not share the same deployment rules.

What do you think?

C. If FAQed I'd bet the Prime would be unable to join during deployment, however - it's just something I feel likee GW would do.

D. The unit is unable to deploy and is therefor destroyed.

Agreed with this

This doesn't seem right. What's the logic behind it? Even if the lictors DID use chameleonic skin to deploy, they could deploy at the table edge "or within 6 inches" and the prime would be able to deploy in coherency.

1. Lictors MUST deploy using their special rule, no allowance in the rule to do otherwise.
2. Prime does not have said special rule.
3. Nothing is said special rule confers it to anything other than the Lictors.
4. Nothing in the rules allows a single unit to use two differing deployment methods to enter the table (If you want to do it, you need to show where it says you CAN, not a lack of saying they can't).
5. Any unit that cannot completely deploy onto the table is destroyed (per Main Rules FAQ).
