A blood angel librarian in a rhino, on the first turn, zip forward 12" and cast Fear of Darkness on a bike squad or a jump infantry squad.

If they fail the 2D6 <= 7 then their 3D6 fall back will get them off the board.

Cheese or not?

Even better than the Rhino is the Storm Raven, because then the libby and the unit can still assault (taking a DT test of course)

Difficult or Dangerous T test?

And if Dangerous, isn't the DT test for Skies of Blood? And not simply using the front assault ramp?

@optimusprime14: Might be but FoD is 24" range, even if the Storm Raven moves 12" in a pitched battle, there is no way you are within charge range on turn 1.

It might work on turn 2 but then:
- if FoD works, they run => now you cannot charge.
- if FoD doesn't work, you have just wasted your power since you could have used another to improve your cc result.

Am I missing something? I was on the receiving end of this and I don't play BA.

SR can move flat out but you can exit at any time taking (IIRC) a dangerours terrain test

You don't have to attach the libby to the unit you are going to assault with, so if you get lucky with your op's deployment you can assault another unit. Depending on the game played-> 12" from table edge+12" SR move+ 6" assault charge= 30'" charge (with a 48" range on FtD)

So yes it'll have to be on a second turn, however the 48" range on FtD is pretty awesome!

You can disembark like this, but you can't assault that turn. As per the skies of blood rule.

Back in 3e, when this power was in the SM dex, and affected all enemy units within ...12"? --

Librarian buys Artificer Armour, Rides a bike, Turbo's across to Tau lines

He now has a 2+ Invulnerable Save and T4(5).

Tau say "what the crap, I'll ignore that duder"

Next turn:

Librarian casts Fear of the Darkness
Tau player tabl'ed due to Ld 6 units (Ld 8-2) out the wazoo.

And that is a lesson in how the game has changed

In your squads, doing the chainsword tango

How about we go back to RT era, and tech marines with gravity guns? That post reeks of smugness and doesn't really contribute except "the power was way better back then!" Most things were

FoD works wonders on guard HW teams, especially if you can catch them away from company standard or something similar. Also longfangs at the back of the field are reduced to LD7, and that can just plain suck when they flee the table so early. The other unit that sometimes just begs for it is lootaz. LD5, have fun

I use it in every BA list I play. It's really good unless you come up against daemons or deathwing...

just a few things might need to be cleared up with using the rhino and libby

since fear the darkness is a PSA wouldnt you be unable to use it if the rhino moved at cruising speed?

AFAIK that only affects the vehicle shooting and actual shooting

I think cruising only affect crew. Assault psa should still be able to

a PSA is still a shooting attack(pg 50 of BRB) and would apply to the rules under fire points on pg 66 of the BRB

so models in a vehicle with firing points may not fire if the vehicle moved at cruising speed that turn

however the libby can jump out after the 12 inch move then cast fear

@lliadon Thanks for clearing that up. This really make that shennanigan stuff harder to do now.

Yeah you still have to follow the shooting rules.

I did use this against a dragowing paly squad 2 turn off of a deepstrike. They failed and ran off the board. Needless to say he always includes a Libby now in his list ATTACHED TO THE SQUAD.
