This may have been discussed before, but what is the result when two conflicting rules such as Runes of Witnessing for an Eldar Farseer and Shadow of the Warp for Tryanids are both in effect? Does one take priority, or do they just cancel each other out?

The last time, it was ruled in the FAQ that they cancelled each other out (Previous tyranid codex).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

Originally SitW and Runes cancelled each other out. Now there are a few different ways of playing it.
Use 4d6 and combine both.
Cancel each other out.
Or (what I believe is the correct way) a slight variation on runes of warding vs runes of witnessing.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Here's the Eldar FAQ

Q. How do the Runes of Witnessing work when facing
a Hive Tyrant with Shadow in the Warp?
A. The Runes neutralize the effect of the Shadow in the
Warp for that Farseer, so the Farseer will take Psychic
tests using 2D6, as normal.

Note that that applies to the PRVIOUS SitW, which had a different effect.

If that was the case, they would have removed it when the new Tyranid Codex came out.
Since the FAQ still exists, regardless of how you feel about it, it should be applied.
I agree - it should have been removed, because the old and new SiTW aren't similar.

Like they removed the note about a gaurd commander counting as a KP after the codex came out and changed the squad so said commander no longer existed by name?

Just to clarify my earlier post.
1. The two powers cancel each other out.
2. Roll 4d6, drop the highest, and if you have any double 1's or 6's on the 3d6 suffer perils (Nos can clarify this better, as it was her idea.).
3. Roll 3d6. Ignore the highest for purposes of determining whether you pass or fail, however if you have double 1's or 6's on the three dice you suffer a Perils.
Note for options 2 and 3 regardless of outcomes you will only suffer a single Perils.

Right - that should've been removed as well. Since there's no model with that name, that FAQ is useless. Apply it all you want, but there's no in game effect.

SiTW still exists. So does RoW. Since everything in that FAQ still exists, it should be applied.
