Hi Dakka,
I'm building a mechdar list with msu dire avenger and fire dragon squads in wave serpents. Before I start glueing stuff what is the best way to go with weapons? I was thinking twin linked shuriken cannons on the fire dragon wave serpents to keep them cheap as they won't last long? How about the dire avenger wave serpents, is it best to go for the flexibility and added punch of twin linked EML or is scatter laser spam the way to go?
I have 2 fire prisms and an scoring EML falcon in the heavy section, and I fight mainly chimera spam guard and mech space wolves.
Advise of fellow Autarchs much appreciated!

I'm a big fan of scatterlaser and shuriken cannon on all wave serpents.

It's a mistake to assume that wave serpents carrying dragons won't survive. Sometimes you want to stand off and shoot stuff instead of rushing in to commit suicide. So if your whole fleet of tanks is tooled for str6 spam, it gives you tactical options.

I've always had good luck with tl missile launcher + extra cannon. You can move 12 and fire the blast as a defensive weapon.

Generally scatter lasers are the best, but missiles and lances are a great asset vs things like gks / chimera front armor. Though you should have enough s8 between your falcon and dragons.

I also like shuri on the dragon wagon, since they are such a huge target no matter what

I use shuri cannons on Dragon Serpents and EML on DA Serpents. I like EML's but I can't afford to have them everywhere. If I'm going to lose out on AT anywhere I prefer it to be on the serpents with Dragons inside. It also creates a nice symmetry

Also, try out a 3rd fire prism instead of the Falcon a few games just to feel the flexibility of the various link-shot options when you have an extra prism. I personally can't go back to Falcons.

Interestingly enough I just finished converting my 2 Fire Prisms into Falcons, the Old models were annoying anyway (too top heavy). I've play tested the falcons in a few games and I've been generally impressed. They make awesome scoring bunkers, and 3 s8 shots is often more consistent than hoping your prisms don't scatter to kingdom-come. Sure linking the prisms is a lot of fun, but then you are devoting a huge amount of your heavy support for a single shot, and its really easy to disrupt by shaking / stunning one of the prisms.

Not saying that prisms are bad, but the Falcons have impressed me. At the end of the day, Eldar have a lot of just plain good heavy support options...
