So, with the newly released Vampire Counts, I'm considering doing an army. Now, with Vampire Counts come Skeleton Warriors. I prefer the white look over the bleached/brownish look you could give them. I have thought of a quick way to paint them: Prime white, badab black wash and drybrush white again. How would this look? Do you have any example pictures?

And most importantly, do you have any other ideas on how to quickly paint white skeletons?

Try white with a wash of fortress gray. Thin out the gray but I think you could get by with a two coat process rather than the 3 you are thinking of.

Your idea would definatly work... it will give you very bleach white skelies
I have found that the techniques that are displayed on GWs webside work very well... it really boils down to how white you want them.

Id use devlan mud instead of badam black personally, but depends if you want that super stark, black and white look

Yeah I would personally want to do a brown wash or basecoat as well. But whatever makes you happy!

Do some tests - I suspect a brownish wash over white will give a more pleasing look than a black wash over white, but it depends on what other uniform/weapon/base colours you'll be using.

I'd use a Necronomican Grey basecoat. Use Badab Black or Devlan Mud to shade it, then use 50/50 Grey and White to go over the raised areas, then gradually build up a whiter and whiter highlight on main areas where the light would catch.

I'd either prime grey and drybrush white, or prime white and only put wash in the recesses, then drybrush over white to cover any mistakes.

Whatever you do try and avoid washing the whole model black because its hard to get the white back.
