Not sure if this belongs in the Painting and Modelling forum or here but since it seemed general enough I figured I'd try it here and pray for the best.

I am converting a number of Gnoblar models up to become Gretchin in my Evil Sunz force, by the codex Gretchin only carry their Grot Blasters (atleast by my old codex) and have no other weapon options.

I have been modelling mine with a number of looted weapons (bolt pistols, bolters, las pistols, las guns) all in various states of repair using the reasoning that due to either disrepair or poor handling the grots only use them with the stats of grot blasters.

I have however been eyeing up my IG special weapon spares as conversion opportunities, do you think people would complain if I modelled these and still used them as grot blasters?

Does this violate WYSIWYG as regardless of what weapon they are modelled with there can be no confusion as to what weapon they are using since their ONLY option is grot blasters.

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers

No one should give you any trouble as long as they know the models are grots. Orks (Grots included) can use pretty much anything. You could model an ork boy with a bolter and it would still be a shoota, and within WYSIWYG ruling.

What he said.

Looting rules apply. Similarly with looted wagon, it could be a looted Predator Tank, or a Baneblade... Regardless it is still a Looted Wagon.

In regards to the looting rules, and given that it'd be my own thread I'm hijacking. I understand that ANY given vehicle can be used in this regard, I had been considering converting a raider into a hybrid raider/zepplin (cant remember the name of it, basically raider hull suspended from a large balloon drifting along battlefield).

Aside from my own issue of setting my heights rather high, how would the base of this vehicle be used (i.e. it doesnt have the same footprint as a tank, but looted vehicles arent skimmers)

Would it:

a) use a flight base
b) have to be modelled onto a base the size of an average tank (rhino for example)
c) other option I havent thought of

There is no established "size" of a Looted Wagon. Hell, someone at my FLGS is using 4 Leman Russ hulls underneath a fortressy type thing as his... I'd go for a large flying base. They're Orks. Go wild!

You better upload pictures of it... I always thought the Raider chassis would make a good sky-boat/blimp thing.
