It could've been better had I got rid of the mold lines and done a better base. I just like to focus on the paint job though.

It looks okay. I'm afraid I can't comment more, because the image has been blurred. You might want to look at working with macro focus.

Some details just don't seem to be there, but I am sure they are. What I can see looks quite good.

That said, and in relation to your comments on 'eavy metal team, I'm afraid I have to tell you I prefer 'eavy metal. Sorry.

I think it's well painted and I like the colours, but you're not 'twice as good' at painting as the 'eavy metal team. Why didn't you paint the base by the way?

Looks great! I personally would try to make the colours look more vibrant and bright as that is what us Slaanesh worshippers love most

Come on, honestly?

It's low-end tabletop. I'd expect it to score around 4.5 - 5 on CMON. High end (GW store army) level tends to rate 6 - 6.5. High end commission tabletop standards usually around 7 - 7.5. (Deserving) GD finalist / 'Eavy Metal standard around 8 - 8.5 and anything above that stands a chance of placing in GD.

Until you can paint beyond the standards of the 'Eavy Metal team, you should probably keep your mouth shut.

I think you're overreacting to some of the comments, most have been in jest or just telling you the truth, none have really been malicious...but I like the marine, it's a good tabletop quality, I especially like the battle damage look it suits chaos marines well

I mean no offence.

However, when one spends their time shooting off their mouths in other threads, expect something back.

Somehow these two statements doesn't match up.

I would suggest working a bit more on separating the various parts of the model from each other.
Like the ribbing between the upper and lower left arm, or the horn on the right shoulderpad. or the details on the lower legs and feet.

There's a long way to go to be even remotely near 'Eavy Metal level (or decent table top for that matter), but keep it up. You'll get there.

Call me crazy but I prefer OP's marine to most of eavy metal's work. It's grittier and more realistic.

edit: so we're clear, i'm not saying OP is better than them. I'm sure they can do this in their sleep.

I like the gritty feel, but the execution needs some work. The weathered metal looks fine on the bolter, but the trim, especially on the legs and feet could use some work. The scratch effects could benefit from some work on the paint around them. Chipping of the paint usually leaves some high and low spots on the paint which is mimicked by drawing a thin line of black for shadowing at the edge and highlighting edges of the chips. http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRSrJmCmhEf1uPubdTGXd8-_aRcf4VdFLKvttw5M8tF94FkQ2b3pBYorNFf is a decent reference photo.

I would also suggest cleaning up where the washes pool unevenly like the top rounded part of the backpack exhaust. The horns could also use some work with highlighting maybe towards the tip. The Chaos helmet horns are kind of hard to work with in general as they are ridiculously large- between them and the shoulder spikes, moving and aiming would be a bear for the traitors!

The base also has a long way to go. For simple bases, just use sand and talus as a base. The variety of sizes gives it visual interest- the smaller sand is painted like dirt and the larger pieces as rocks or debris. Then add patches of static grass. Good tutorial here: http://salmondworks.com/blog/?p=156

If you are looking for tabletop, it is perfectly fine as is.

Come on people, of course it could use some work, but it's really not bad and worth complimenting.
I think the metal and purple seem well executed.
