They look nice.
About the normal for armies though. Maybe 50-60% of retail.

You'd be able to sell it for an alright price, but don't expect to actually make money on it. That's the norm for it though.

Edit: Just realised I derped in the first line when I changed it from "they don't look that bad" to "they look nice"
Sorry about that OP.

It's painted competently but not well enough to fetch retail or more.

I disagree 100% with what people are generally saying here. This army has the potential to sell, and achieve a price greater than retail.

Its a well painted (to tabletop gaming standard) army. Take some good photos and get it on ebay, this army saves people having to buy, build, and then paint their own force...to those in the know its worth paying a premium for a well painted force.

DO NOT SELL YOURSELF SHORT! people here who are saying it's worth less than retail are probably people who paint their own armies, or are "bargain" hunters whose £$£ stay firmly in their pockets as they expect to get a display painted army for the price of a Happy meal.

Let the true customers decide on what this is worth. I think you could get between $700 and $800 for this easy, maybe more if you take good photos!!

I would give you about $400, thats about retail and paint job. I would prefer to buy the models unpainted and paint them myself. On ebay you could at least get full retail for it.

I'm not selling the army guys but I was just curious to see how much the average person would buy my army for. I'm only 15 so my parents were worried because they didn't want me to be investing in all these models and not be able to resell them.

Thanks for all the nice comments too, please keep em coming!

Purely understandable, Im on the same boat as well, minus Im worried about it myself, not my parents.

Selling Warhammer is an interesting thing.... Here is break down of my analysis.

a) If these were painted by commission ( for example bluetable ) this would easily be considered lvl 2 or lvl 3 of their scale.
Which the commission alone ( not counting the mini's value ) , it would easily be $250 ish. Which it would fit the price of $500 roughly.

b) However... warhammer collectors does not always see the minis for what it is. Some may look at what you are offering and decides to strip them and paint it themselves.
Its incredible awkward and backwards, but it happens all the time, and some will even further lower the value or so they say to compensate their time to strip it.
I dont agree with it, but I just see it all too often. Hence you see low offers wayyy below retail.

c) Warhammer products are sold around the world, which means the prices are set differently. With Canada and Japan being 25%-30% higher, Aussie and Newzealand 50% higher
you can easily fetch 50% more profit selling to Aussies compared to selling to Europeans.

Grey Knights are the new blood angels popularity wise. They are too common to really get profit, and silver is a hard sell, since it is hard to make out highlights in the pictures.

They're competently painted and solid tabletop quality, so I wouldn't expect to sell it as a quality display army. However, the fact that they're painted could make them appealing to someone who wants to play the game without dealing with painting.

I'm trying to count everything there, and I'm coming out with something around $500 at retail. Depending on who you're selling to, you could probably get a decent return on your investment. Not a huge one, but enough to make back most of what you spent on it, even possibly coming out even.

Its like everything else. If you sold these 1 month or so after the release of them you could have got double your investment.
Now you would be looking at 50% to 70%.
Its a pity your not in UK as i would have made you a decent offer on those.

The real selling point in this army, is that they're already built and painted, which means the potential customer just pays and plays. To alot of people that is a very desirable thing to do. Not everyone is of a mind to spend hours upon hours assembling and painting. It's the reason why companies like BTP and Worthy Painting can make some money from the "hobby".

The people here who are stating that they would pay less because they'd rather paint and assemble the models themselves are completely missing the point. They are not the target customer, so you can really discount their opinions on the matter. Not being rude or nasty, but it's like a car salesman taking advertising advice from people who only want motorcycles.....horses for courses!

THey are decently painted, but not totally amazing. Im not saying this to put you down! Im just being honest. SO, my advice3 would be to keep on painting. If you can do at lease 1 hour per day you will soon improve. Then you will be able to build a portfolio of work to show off and then seek commissions. You can make money as a painter, but expect to work at least 8 hours 5 days a week to make a good wage.

I would say 500 to 600. While I would not pay that much for them due to the fact that I enjoy painting myself, I definitely know some people that would pay over retail price for a fully assembled and painted army. Also, nice paint job, keep up the good work!

Without wanting to put a figure forward, I'd think about 150% of retail on eBay would be achievable with good photos.

I very rarely see painted armies selling for retail, let alone better.

It's an investment because it's something you can have fun with for a good few years - not because you can get a decent re-sale value for it (most likely you won't)

I wold pay $250 tops. Sure they are painted nicely yet i feel if i put in the same time and effort i could achieve the same result. There's not a whole lot that wowed me as everything (except that dude 2handing the sword) looks very static in its posing. All in all they are well done but as is i would not drop any large sum of money on em (got bills n that to pay first)

WAAAHG!!! until further notice

Well painted armies almost always go above retail ... I dunno what the majority of this thread is smoking.

I just sold, this week, a drybrushed nurgle army for $700.

Well, this army is currently at $460, and I think yours is at least as well painted, and your army is bigger... so $500+ probably.

Hehe, next level painting ... mold lines =) Yeah that army is a quick assembly line airbrusher. Not a huge amount of detail.

You can do a LOT with an airbrush really fast.... for example, those rhinos in the picture are less detailed than some razorbacks I did recently, and I pumped out all 4 of these in 2 nights after work.

The airbrushing on those GK tanks is IMO too obvious, and it looks out of place.

The point I'm making is that even meh painted armies, if done with a cohesive scheme, can fetch a decent price. OP's army I'd value more, because its obvious more time was spent on it, and it has a more detail-oriented look.

The airbrushed army looks OK, but its obviously speedpainted.

Personally, I'd say to the right person: Retail + 200-250.

For the simple fact that the person buying this isn't buying to repaint it, but to play with it right away.... that is your market.

But if you get an offer for retail+175, you might consider it.

Luna, best way to learn airbrush is to watch a few vids till you are comfortable then go to town on scrap paper ... thick enough to take paint of course. It is like learning to paint ... you can be shown the techniques but until you practice you will not know how to handle a brush or the paint.

O and you can always use water on cardboard to practice control, that way you are not wasting money on paint.
