Do Assault Marines w/ jump packs take a dangerous terrain test when assaulting into the terrain? The ASM's begin and end in open terrain in the movement phase, but their intended targets are in terrain. I was always under the impression they didn't take the test as the final movement was always made on foot.

You are correct in what you were thinking - the JI section of the rulebook is explicit that thy move on foot, and thus do not count difficult as dangerous

Correct me if Im wrong.

You can also choose to walk through rough terrain during the movement phase with jump infantry as to not risk dangerous terrain test.
