My question is this: it says in both my codexs "take up to 4 missiles..." does that mean i HAVE to take at least one of these missiles on the voidraven or can i feild it at just 145pts with no upgardes? Thx in advance for clarification on this sudject.

This should be in YMDC.

And you don't have to take missles.
If it says "May take up to 4 missiles" that means that you can have 0-4 missiles of any type on the model.
