So after doing fairly well in may last few games I'd love some peoples opinions on my newest SM List.

As always I'd love people takes on this, some pointers and a decent assessment of my weaknesses if anyone has the time.

HQ
Librarian - Null Zone + (Smite or GoI)

5 man Tac Squad + Combimelta

I've got 90 points to spend so my question is... Do I tool up my libby?
Do I buy a random sniper scout squad to help me MC kill?
Do I purchase myself another Typhoon?

Honestly with 4 speeders with 6 hub shots I think you are covered from hoard that you could drop the thunder file cannon which could give you enough points for a drop pd dread with melta or a termi squad To go with your Libby.

My TFC has been one of my favourite things to throw around currently, especially my favourite ork opponent who always seems to fail his difficult terrain tests with his battlewagon spam.
And throwing out ID blast markers to IG and eldar and DE and scarabs really makes me happy.

If I was to boost up to 2000 without question I'd take a LRC with hammernators and fully deck out my libby for a counter assault unit. Also with only one drop pod I'd probs be throwing him into the enemy without any back up which seems to me a bit counter productive to his health!

I do love throwing pods around to funnel vehicles and the like though...

AS far as the two plasma servitors - I don't think it is illegal to buy them but I think it is illegal to attach them to him AND fire the thunderfire meaning you are going to have to deal with dull witted servitors.

To that end, how about 5 sternguard with 2 plasma cannons to sit in that nice buffed up terrain? I think this fits with your style and would give you the real AP2 punch you are looking for with the added benefit of 3 nice sternguard ammo pot shots.

Interesting question about the servitors. They definitely can not be added to the cannon unit so they will suffer from mind lock, also they are rubbish.

Try the dark angel, space wolve, black templar or blood angel codices. It would mean leaving out the cannon

I always think going for 10 man tactical squads is the real method to get enough firepower on the board for the points.

Having said that your list still stands up

I never knew that was the ruling on servitors - I assumed they were an additional upgrade to the techmarine not a seperate unit themselves. As they say assumptions are the mother of all **** ups.

Well that puts them on the shelf completely forget only firing if the dice gods love me!

The sternguard idea is actually rather nice, especially as they can baby sit the TFC with their 2 attacks if needed.

That my good DAddict is a rather lovely idea. Now what to do with the last 30 points!

Perhaps thowing storm bolters on the Lasbacks so a weapon destroyed roll doesn't ruin my day completely?

Anyone got any other suggestions?

Sorry, I didn't realise DAddict answered the servitor point. Once the cannon is destroyed he could join servitors.
If you like sternguard for 125 with 20 for plasma cannons then why not just take the extra men in the tactical squads.
90pts for example would be a plasma cannon then a proper meltagun for each razorback, plus you could save the points on the combis.

Why do you want gate for the librarian?
Also are the weapons on the 'backs the best choice?

I just feel the TL Lasback offers me a lot in the way of killing of mech - which is huge in my meta. Near enough a guaranteed hit, then a fairly nice roll for armour penetration.

GoI was more if I needed to rapidly contest an objective late in the game.

If I increase my squad size i dont have a metal box for them to roll around in - unless I buy a rhino for them. This increases the price which I don't know where i'd find the points for without taking out something else.

85 pts for the servitors, 90 pts spare. Up to 30 pts for combimeltas which would now be 15 pts for full on meltas.

I guess that is could be take away the two servitors and two combimeltas: combimeltas become meltas, then servitors become 2 5 man groups will plasma cannons.

Oh, I mean I split the squad into 2 5 man groups, 5 back with plasma cannon, though I prefer missile launchers - you want some antitank - then 5 with melta run in the razorback.

True, that is probably the best librarian power available.

Don't I then have to have a turn putting them in a the razorback?
I thought combat squad was on deployment of the 10 man squad

It does mean I can camp on a home objective though good for those capture and control missions.
