so off the top just playing around with my fancy new book to see what there is to make and looking for fun/ competative builds. this is the first thing i saw would be interesting was an all ghoul army.

strigoi ghoul king
terrorgheist
rancid maw

25 crypt ghouls
crypt ghast upgrade

25 crypt ghouls
crypt ghast upgrade

terrorgheist
rancid maw

8 crypt horrors
crypt haunter upgrade

8 crypt horrors
crypt haunter upgrade

i see the obvious frailty of there being no banners and only one leader. if anyone has a cool idea to incorperate a hero in that would be fine.

2,000 points I assume?

Aside from the instant loss if you get the Blood and Glory scenario, it seems like this sort of army puts very few models on the table and forfeits the magic phase by default. You would have some teeth in close combat and the terrorgheists are great on the flanks but it seems like this army is extremely fragile.

But if you like the idea of it, hell go for it and make it work for you.

Well.. a cannon ball taking out your ghoul king 1st turn is all it would take to effectively end the game for you right there.
I'd suggest dropping the crypt horrors to 6 each and put in a pair of necromancers with lore of vampire to help keep your ghouls at full strength and stop your army from falling to pieces the second the general dies.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

I think that's an overstated concern. 2-3 armies have cannons? You can also deploy your Ghoul King right behind an obstacle to ignore the first cannon shot fired at it.

Where the sun crosses the field of blood.

If you want, you could probly take a Vamp. hero and give it some Strigoi-themed powers and strigoi-themed items (no armour, no shield, some ward/reg save... Perhaps Fear Incarnar and/or terror, as the Hero hasn't quite reverted to it's instincts as much as a Ghoul King), or just a Necromancer that decided to follow the Ghoul King for whatever necromanty reason.
Also.. I see no Varghulf in your list. Do you just like the Terrorgheist more, or is there another reason for that?

I choose the terrorgheist because rancid maw seemed fitting with poisoned attacks although I agree a vargulf is more ghoulish in nature

I would possibly add a melee vampire to theme it out better idk. Just idea stage right now

Well, both Terrorgheists and Varghulfs are Strigoi in nature, so it's either way. I would personally take one of both, or something along those lines.
