Guys, looking to gauge how effective this'll be before I fork out on the Land Raiders. Your help will be appreciated...

I am considering swapping one Redeemer for a Crusader, for different tactical options.

The big problem i see for this list is the almost complete lack of shooting, with it being effectively limited to a pair of lascannon until your cyclones disembark, and even then, it's not going to scare anyone. With only the three units you leave yourself open to being blocked and forced to attack sacrificial units for the whole game while your opponent has free run of the table. Also, apart from logan, they're not actually that scary in combat either, and high initiative enemies with power weapons (eg incubi) or rending (eg genestealers) will cut you down in short order.

After all that negativity, i do have a couple of suggestions. Dropping one of the land raiders would free up points for some long fangs or another wolf guard squad on foot. I don't think you really need terminator armour on every squad member, it's always useful to have a couple of them in power armour, with maybe just stormbolters. It adds to the fire power as you advance, and gives you someone to allocate low ap shots to.

hope that was helpful,

grrr

Yeah, shooting bothers me. But I am trying to make a 3 land raider, all termie list work. I had initially tried the Dark Angels codex, am now trying out Space Wolves. The Dark Angels are a lot cheaper but I am getting 3 pretty tasty (imho) characters and the ability to take a Redeemer.

The problem with all Terminator lists in most cases is that Terminators are expensive, and small in number. You end up suffering exponentially for every casualty, you generally don't have enough units to win objective game, and not enough of a punch to table an opponent unless they feed you.

Your list is 'neat'. It very likely is one of the better ways to take 3 LR and 3 Terminators outside of Grey Knights. Its still not going to be that great against most armies though.

Your list had 3 vehicles. I play foot lists and whenever I try to take a handful of vehicles it ends badly. The name of the survival game is 'target saturation'. You need to provide enough targets to your opponent that A) what they choose to shoot at doesn't matter, B) what they don't shoot at will hurt them, and C) they would have to split their fire among so many different targets that their anti-tank is less effective so you are more likely to get through.

With 3 targets, all they have to do is pick one or two of them and concentrate fire. Once the first one pops all their remaining anti-tank just hits the second. Sure, with AV14 this could go badly for them. But if your typical Space Wolf list is bringing 10-15 missiles, 2-3 TL LC and a whole lot of Meltaguns, well they're going to be popping Land Raiders every turn.

Once your Termies are dismounted they can be picked apart from range.

Even better, they don't HAVE to pop your Land Raiders to be annoying. Say you are going against IG. They could just tar pit you with a large conscript squad. Toss in a few Power Weapons and you can kiss those Terminators good bye. They'll be stuck trying to kill 20+ models and taking 12-16 power weapon attacks a turn, plus all those regular attacks...

Look at Grey Knight armies that go "Draigowing". Its a waste of time. They tend to have maybe 20 models on the table in high point games and the best they can ever do is a draw. It must be boring too given all you can do is sit there usually.

The real stength with Logan is that you can take mixed armor Wolf Guard squads. Stick to Power Armor except on the Terminators. You end up taking a lot more models on the table and a lot more heavy weapons. 3 Land Raiders are intimidating, for about 3 minutes. Then your opponent will realize how gimped your army is and act accordingly.
