I have a question about magic resistance and when exactly it comes into affect.
The plague furnace for example has magic resistance 2, but its inside a unit. Spells like magic missiles or attacks that hit that unit that the furnace is a part of would benefit from the magic resistance 2, its not purely for attacks that wish to 'snipe' the furnace itself, the benifets as far as magic goes are bestowed upon the entire unit?
The same question goes for the Obsidian amulet. Surely if the spell is cast on the unit that has the character in and has a chance of over flowing damage / indirectly effects or could effect the character would cause the magic resistance 2 to be bestowed generally to the unit as a whole for such spells?
The reason I ask is more so because in the rule book there is a banner which bestows magic resistance 1 globally to the entire unit which raises the question to me does individual character magic resistance work when there in a unit. For example someone fires fireball on the unit, it won't directly hit the character - Would the magic resistance kick in to begin with because although it wont hit him its still 'targeting' his unit. The same goes for magic resistence of a character (in a unit ofc) vs 13th spell? plague etc. which is cast upon the unit but to which the character is in/a part of.
Second question, can you stack magic resistance bonuses assuming say a BSB has the +1 magic resist and the obsidian amulet +2 magic resist for a magic resist of 3?
