The Hive Mind

Q: Does Shadow in the Warp affect psykers who are taking a Psychic test whilst embarked within a transport vehicle? (p33)
A: Yes.

\o/ you are no longer safe from the hivemind while hiding in your bawkses!

Also, so sorry KFF:

Q: Can a unit take cover saves from any source other than the terrain they are in, or touching, against Wounds caused by an impaler cannon? (p47)
A: No.

Some faith in sanity at GW has been restored.

Yup, all welcome.

Still cant target powers into vehicles though. Yeah like a foot of adamantium is going to stop the Hive Mind.

I wasn't aware that the KFF was an issue for impaler cannons
Nob bikers not getting their exhaust cloud does hurt, however.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

This helps.

I take back half the bad things I said about them.

Some nice changes...I was really hoping they would allow independent characters to join units in Spore Pods, but I guess we'll take what we can get.

Also, you still get cover saves against the Doom of Malan'Tai He's literally sucking your soul out...but you'll be ok if you're behind a fence. Maybe next update

And you don't go at Initiative 1 for assaulting through the venomthrope's spore cloud for the reason "It's not terrain". Except ofcourse, you go at I1 because you take a test, not because you actually go through terrain.

But hurrah for swarmlord and tyrant guard being 1 KP now

The Warp

Thank god shadow of the warp got its nuts back. It was bs that psychic hoods affected units in transports but shadow didn't. The nids need all the help they can get. Hooray for impaler cannons getting their rightful boost. Now they just need cheaper tyrants and a pre faq doom.

Good update. I've always gnashed my teeth at the Shadow in the Warp ruling.

I wish they had fixed the Spore Pod issue, but alas.

I'm curious if we are going to see some new rules in next months White Dwarf, since a rumored Nid second wave is coming out.

I'm remaining cautiously optimistic about a second wave.

Rumours are saying we're getting it, but that we may be disappointed in what gets a release. Which may mean a plastic Hive Tyrant (since the US online store kicks you back to the homepage for trying to buy one) and a Harpy. A model everyone already has and a model people don't particularly want.

I really hope it's a Tervigon/Tyrannofex release, either as two single kits or a dual kit, but the comment of us maybe being disappointed makes me think it won't be.

I hope for a Tervigon kit to and the Hive Tyrant kit comes with wings.

Well, if the Tyrant kit has wings, it'll be a whole new kit - one of the rumours was Tyrant wings were coming in a plastic kit that also included Swarmlord arms. The downside is the model is even bigger. I believe the source said it was at least an inch taller than the current Tyrant.

One thing I do not like about Tyranids is that most of the HQ choices do not have a kit so you have to do a lot of converting.

To be fair, Tyranid Primes are Tyranid Warriors. That's why they're on the Warrior bestiary page, and described as the apex of the Warrior genus. So they have models for their two main generic HQ's.

I agree that the complete lack of their 'special character' HQ's is criminal though. Only book ever launched without any of their special HQ's represented.
