I got hold of a case from work, (it was a Tool set being binned) and recovered it from the man who was about to ditch it. I was interested in the case for my dice, tape measures and rule book.

I used it for a few weeks, when a friend said "Why don't you magnetise you infantry and stick them inside the Case?"

I knew it wasn't magnetic, but the rubberized steel movement trays from Gale-Force 9 are!. Suddenly it it me, trim the Movement trays, glue them in place, then buy the BF base magnets. I decided to cut a thin piece of foam so the miniatures if they did come loose couldn't move and damage the models on the opposite side. Hey presto, total cost, £5 for the Movement trays, £14 for all the magnet bases and alot of spare ones!

All told I am very pleased, it is small easy to carry and very safe.

So now my Army is growing I am pondering how to do this with a bigger Case? Does anyone know if a manufacturer does the Rubberized Steel Movement trays in A4 size?

Plus does anyone have any idea for magnetising the undeneath of vehicles in a cost effective manner? Open to any suggestions!

Collecting Forge World 30k????? If you prefix any Thread Subject line on 30k or Pre-heresy or Horus Heresy with [30K] we can convince LEGO and the Admin team to create a 30K mini board if we can show there is enough interest!

I would suggest gluing sheet metal strips and magnets but battle front does not use hollwed bases. But ut looks like you got it figured out.
