I put this tutorial together to explain exactly how I "Brush Dip" my miniatures. Very fast prep and none of the mess of the traditional dunk and shake method.

Includes explanation, step-by-step pictures, Army Painter to Minwax equivalents, and a gallery showing the results of different dip/paint combinations.

Great guide! It was very thorough and easy to understand. Now I am seriously considering dipping my minis. I used to think it was lazy (it is a littl, ) but it turns out some awesome results.

BTW- You must write [Link] in the title if it's linked to a site off Dakka.

Very good. Will see if I can get the stuff and do this to my guardsmen. Will save me highlighting and washing 140+ models.

Thanks for the kudo's folks,

Ninja13,
I don't know if they sell Minwax in Australia, but if you ask for a combination stain and polyurethane product at your local DIY store they should have something similar.

I also did my IG army with the dip. You can see them in my Gallery. The results were good, but would have been better if I'd followed my own advice and used a lighter color for the basecoat.

I just picked up some Minwax polyshades in a new colour called classic black satin. I am going to test it out and see if it is a good approximation of the AP dark tone.

Templarboy,
Sounds promising, but keep the mineral spirits handy.

IIRC, Classic black gloss was reported to be more of a paint consistency than a dip. Be ready to quickly clean the model off with mineral spirits if Classic black satin ends up the same way.

Good Luck.
