Well, meant to hit reply, guess I exalted the post. XD Umm, there ya go then?
Anyways, I would think SOME form of "hey, this guy flies" would be good. I assume you don't want to put him in a flying position in case you DON'T want to use the Carpet? In that case, perhaps MAGNETIZE a carpet thingy for him. Make a regular base, magnetizing his feet to it. Then make a Carpet (or cloud or whatever) and magnetize him to THAT, attaching that to a FLying base.
Hope that helps.

The correct question is, would I be enjoying this hobby if I did this?
The correct audience is you. |

Unless GW have FAQed something I am unaware off you do not need to model a flying carpet any more then you need to model any other magic item.
However who wants to miss out on the chance to mount figures on flying bases or make a little carpet for someone to cruise around on.

Damn I cant wait to the GW legal team codex comes out now there is a dex that will conquer all. |

I think it's good form to show lists of magic items. You don't have to show which model. There are some SC who can see them, so presumably you can't normally. But no, nothing needs to be modeled in terms of magic.
