Wondering how everyone would play the Ardent Blade when it comes to the assault phase.

The ardent blade can be used as a heavy flamer template in the shooting phase. It can also be used as a power weapon in the assault phone that always wounds on 4+

Would you let Celestine use her weapon to make a Fire Sweep in the assault phase?

Using Fire sweep she would average 2.9 wounds against Guards where using her normal attacks she would get 2.5 wounds and thats assuming she got the assault bonus this round. On subsequent turns she's doing 2.1 wounds a round.

Against anything with a decent toughness or armor save fire sweep starts to lose, but I could see it being more effective on swarms of low toughtness/armor.

If it's only a HF in the shooting phase, then by RAW it wouldn't work in the assault phase as a Fire Sweep.

As for whether I'd let you do it, it depends on how many drinks you're offering

Discussion of unofficial rules belongs in the Proposed Rules section.

It's not a YMDC issue until (if) the book is actually available.
