Hello, I was browsing the new vamper book and I am wondering what you think of the new ghoul lord?

I usualy play defensive with the magic items, however, he can not have armour and cost quite a lott of points if you want to fitt him out with a weapon and vampiric powers. How do you use a character that cost under 500 points and has only a 5+ save? Howeverm he is pretty beefy and if you give him a sword of bloodshed and the the vampier power that lets you attack one more time if you cause a wound you can rank up to 16 hits with him. It is not likly, but with hatred, S5, Poison and 5 attacks base you can quikly do some damadge. (I would supose a fencers blade woul be good as well, as you woul have 6 attacks that hit on 3+ with a reroll.)

But where in the army do you put him? What unit should he be in? He is infantery siced (I think) with a movement of 6, but not ground units move that fast. Any ideas anybody?

Well, people seem rather fond of mounting him on a Terrorgheist, soo... On a Terrorgheist?

I have seen him mostly riding a terrorgheist thus far and used as a hunter of monsters, etc. I havent tried him yet. Ive been tooling around thus far with the throe, engine, and necromancer lists.

The enemy of my enemy is a bastard so lets kill him too.

The ghoul king is ideal for slaping the new scabskrath on as he comes with a built-in regen save that can still be augmented by the cheap-as-chips dragonbane gem. Give him curse of the revenant + aura of dark majesty, slap his butt onto his pet terrorghiest and you've got an absolute monster on your hands!

He's a good hitty lord who's going to cost a bundle, but can potentially remove whole units in a single turn with decent rolls. On the charge you're looking at;
7 re-rolling attacks from the king @ S5
2D6 + 5 - Ld wounds from king's scream
2D6 + 6 - Ld wounds from 'ghiest's scream
4 S5 + D6 thunderstomp from the 'ghiest

Have fun dealing with that!
Or else swap curse for red fury for extra attacks based on what you kill with the king.
