Hello Dakka,
I, the hobby butterfly that I am, recently started an Imperial guard army that I love to pieces. It's nowhere near finished painting-wise, but thats kind of a good thing...
I've always had, no matter what army I was collecting at the time, a soft spot for all things Chaos. The obvious soloution would be to collect a chaos-orientated army, be it
40k or Fantasy (the last of which I tried, and didn't really enjoy). Chaos space marines don't really appeal to me that much, as their too mainstream for me, but the one chaos army I've always loved has been Chaos Renegade Militia. Though not an official army, it's a cool looking one

I'm thinking of converting my current, Emporer-hugging guard into some corrupt scions of chaos, whilst playing them as a counts-as regular guard army.
Now, the Forge World stuff for this army is awesome, but very expensive (It would cost £43 for a fully-kitted 10 man squad of guardsmen!), so I've decided to go for a much cheaper and still cool alternative:

These are made by Pig Iron Productions, and at £4.50 per 20-head sprue, I think there pretty damn cool

Anyway, I wanted to ask for any other (preferably cheap) modelling alternatives for Renegade Guard, and any modelling advice you Dakkaites might have to offer.
Also, any paint scheme ideas would be awesome, though I have a rough Idea already (as well as the cult they originate from):

Thanks, all!
