Seeing as the current rules for the Pylon, an effective yet rare Necron vehicle, are over 5 years old, I thought I'd try to bring them more in-line with the current Necron Codex.
Pylon - 200 Points
Super Heavy Vehicle (Immobile)
Structure Points: 2
Armour - F14 S14 R14
Equipment
- Gauss Flux Array
- Living Metal
Gauss Flux Array may be upgraded to a Voltaic Caster for +50pts
Gauss Flux Array: R18" S4, Ap5, Heavy D6*, Gauss
Voltaic Caster: R18" S5, Ap-, Heavy D6*, Haywire.
*Fires D6 shots at every enemy unit within range. Each Weapon Destroyed result reduces the number of shots by one, to a minimum of one.
May take one of the following upgrades.
- Gauss Obliterator +150pts
- Tesla Annhilator + 100pts
- Eternity Sphere + 50pts
- Null Field +50pts
- Gauss Obliterator: R120" SD, Ap2, Heavy 4, Destroyer, AA Mount
- Tesla Annihilator: R48" S8, Ap-, Ordinance 1, 10" Blast, Arc (measured from edge of blast).
- Eternity Sphere: Treated as an Eternity Gate (see Monolith entry) with a range of 6" anywhere from the Pylon. May be used by any number of units per turn.
- Null Field: All units within 12" treat their Leadership value of 7, unless it would normally be less than that. Any Psyker attempting to use a power within 12" suffers Perils of the Warp on any double-result of their Psychic Test, instead of a double-1 or double-6.
Special Rules
- Deep Strike (pushes models out of the way, just like the previous Monolith.)
Any thoughts? Hopefully this can get a bit more interest in quite a rare unit, giving it more of a support role in a Necron army.
