Did you use a florescent red paint to get that super bright red? Or is it just that it LOOKS super bright compared to the shadows?

Awesome! Looks really vibrant which is hard to do. I got one of these guys coming in the mail and I am going to totally try to copy you... but totally won't be as good

I used a very dark red as the undercoat for the red. Then painted it Blood red with Blazing orange and Fiery orange highlights. And little bit of sepia and mud washes in the deepest parts to bring down some of the color.

I dones't hurt to use many 100 watt daylight bulbs when taking the pictures to make the colors stand out as they would normally look in sunlight.
