I have been invited to take part in a 2.5k league with four games a weekend down my local club and will be taking my Bretonnians, I am not sure what I will be facing but am assuming that the newfangled (get it? ) Vampire Counts will be making more then a cameo role as well as the typical WoC, Teclis Crutch Elves, cowardly black powder worshiping Empire and Ogres although I may be surprised.

So what do you all think of the list?

I am aware of the lack of Magic Items but to be honest I like to have more Knights then pretty trinkets, although I am open to persuasion.

We will be playing random scenario's from the BRB so evidently I will probably get to play Watchtower more then once and never see Blood and Glory.

I do not like your paladin build. The Virtue of Purity is essentially wasted points the way you have him built, unless you do not plan to pray before the game. The Gromril Great Helm is a great item, giving him a 2+ re-rollable armor save. Virtually anything that causes you to fail two 2+ rolls will be STR5 or higher, thus giving you the 5+ ward save anyway.

I tried my paladin built identically to the way you have yours now, but the Virtue was just no use. I'm now trying him with the Gromril Great Helm and the Sword of Might. My paladin is virtually identical to yours (re-rollable 2+ armor save and a 5+ ward against STR5, just like yours. You get a 5+ against STR4 and lower, but with the rerollable 2+ armor, it will rarely come into play). I find I like having the still very survivable paladin, but with STR5 magic attacks!

Alternatively, I considered making him a Grail Knight (since all attacks count as magical) and then giving him some other Enchanted item, but I preferred the Sword of Might option.

Hello thanks for your comment, the Virtue is there due to the fact that I will be encountering Teclis and therefore Lore of Metal meaning that I will not be able to take my saves re roll or not.

There is also a lot of strength 4 and armour piercing which is why I have the additional save from the virtue as a 5+ is infinitely better then 6+

I am also thinking about swapping out the Knight Errants in favour of feedback scroll and dispel scrolls effectively giving me three dispel scrolls as well as a bit of a smattering of banners and such

If you're looking at facing VC and their new etherial units, then a small unit of Grail Knights with their magical attacks will be worth their weight in gold.

I know this is conaidered blaaphemy by some but I'm not a fan of Grail Knights. I'll look for another option to combat ethereal troops

You could always run away from them

That'll be a tricky one, because he's going to be looking to shove them in your face. It won't make them impossible to avoid, but it could make it impossible for you to engage what you need to kill to win.

I'll have a think about it. Its not garunteed that i'll face them but i got fall back of combat res and magic at the moment. Looking at dropping the Knight Errants for a fighty paladin with ruby ring but feel I'm gearing too much towards vamps and losing balance.
