Is it from any point on the base, or same point like vehicles?

Can you move front to back with models like infantry and squads? I know Vehicles are supposed to move from similary points on the model....

The rules for moving vehicles and infantry is the same. Pick a point and stay with it.

So what is the advantage of a big base? Stability?

There really isn't any real advantage. its just what that particular model is required to be on(the base it comes with)

Able to touch more models in CC, slight distance advantage when disembarking from a vehicle, oval bases (or cav/biker) can get a bit of extra movement by pivoting. That's about it.

For disembarking, you disembark to the back of the base and then assault from the front of the base, so you do gain distance for oversized bases.

Bigger bases also get the advantage of having a lower density of models, so templates and blast weapons can't hit as many of them if they are conga-lined.

(On the flip side, because they take up more room, blast weapons have an easier time of getting hits after scattering)

In addition some psychic powers that cover everything within x amount of inches (a unit within 6" inches foe example) are improved by a bigger base because it allows you to cover more area.

Larger bases increase your overall threat range for a unit. For example, a unit of Blood Crushers come on Monstrous Creature bases. With unit coherency, a 3 man unit strung out 2" apart can spread out 11" across the board. A normal 3 man unit can spread out 7" apart. This provides an extra 4" of threat range for the unit.

A unit on large bases also has more DS flexibility, since they can get closer to enemy units or terrain features with each concentric circle. Seekers are great for this.

There is also an advantage for disembarking out of transports, since only part of you base must be within 2".
