Hey guys, after a little detour into tomb kings and dreadfleet I got around to painting up a doomsday ark. I learned from painting the ghost ark so I painted the ribs on this one before assembly (saved me quite a lot of time). As I do with most of the new 'cron weapons I decided to paint the cannon itself with a blue glow to it (it's a shame you can hardly see it though, was quite some work to do and I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out). I drybrushed most of the boltgun parts because I think it gives it a little something extra. The glow on the driver looks a lot more subtle irl btw, the lighting must somehow be overemphasising it on the picture.

Let me know what you think! I'm always looking to improve my painting skills so any tips/advice is very welcome (don't burn me down though )

Looks good. I just can't imagine how the small flying base which they deliver for the kit gives it enough stabilty. ^^

Good work. Really nice highlighting all over. Also, the blue works really well against the green, although I wouldn't expect it to. I'm normally not a big fan of OSL, but the glow from the pilot's console is perfect. True to life, like a nerd sitting in the dark at his computer.

Glad you like it. And LOL you jinxed it enzephalon.. Just before reading your post the stand actually broke, inside the ark. So now I guess i'm going to have to trill it out and hope I can think of something clever. Before breaking it was quite stable though :p and my ghost ark is just fine

Drill 2 holes farther back and farther forward. Then use 2 stands for stability and support.

Life isn't fair. But wouldn't it be worse if Life were fair, and all of the really terrible things that happen to us were because we deserved them?

Looks good. Highlights are very well defined. Interesting choice of blue tho for your OSL. Gives a good contrast to the green.

Thnx for the helpful replies!
I fixed the stand by drilling out the hole and than jamming the plastic stand in there a little further. No stability issues anymore after a little superglue ^^
