Figured I'd throw up a showcase thread for this guy. Had a good handful of eyes on him at my last tournament down at my LGS (a me a good bit of publicity and commissions) A few months back I decided I wanted to do a new version of my old model for Chapter Master Tu'Shan of the Salamanders. Needless to say, after a long wait for bits and tedious green stuff work, I'm very happy with the result.

The belt was molded from Vulkan Hestan and the salamander hides were purely green stuff (using my same technique from my tutorial at http://warpseer.blogspot.com/2011/09/tutorial-greenstuff-scales.html). An unused Forgeworld Rhino door was used for the base and I got the head of the Thunderhammer from a MaxMini hammer blister.

And a better view of the base.

I love this! Everything from the hammer to the cloak is awesome, and I really like the wrist-mounted flame-thrower.

Very nice paintjob too. The base is a perfect example of how every salamander's should be! Maybe next time add a little battle-damage and weather to the armour - like scorch or burn marks around the feet.

Awesome job! He looks amazing.
That salamander hide is really well done and that base with the great lava effect is just fantastic. He has such an awesome paint job too!

Looks great! My biggest critique would be the OSL on the basing - I think toning it down a tad would be far more effective. Going by the paint, the door/stone should be dripping into the pool, as it's indistinguishable from the actual lava. Being so close to the source, there should be a strong glow, certainly, but not as strong as the source, itself.
