This isn't a question about where to place the Scarabs once spawned but a question about which Spiders in a unit can spawn them due to distance. The rule stated that a Spider has to be within 6in of a Scarab unit to spawn a new one. Now is that 6in from each individual Spider or can one Spider within 6in count for the whole unit?

I read it as each Spider because you roll for each Spider to see if they take damage. It's like shooting, If a model in a unit that is shooting isn't in range of the target then it down't get to shoot even though the rest of the models do.
