I have entered a tourney at my local gaming shop. It’s a strange little comp known as 40k in 40 minutes. the rules are as follows:

400 points

1+ troop,

0-1 of each other slot on the force organisation chart,

no Vehicle can have a combined armour of greater then 33,

No model may have a 2+ Armour Save and no model can have 3 wounds or more.

There’s going to be 7 games in the 1 day, all games are capture and control.
this is going to be fun.

I have named the army Glarnk’s gift and the back story is as follows:

Glarnk is one very ambition Nob. He wants to be Warboss one day. To be ambitious in Ork Kultur you need to be really good at bashing da enemy. If there is one thing Glarnk is good at that is bashing the enemy, he is also very good at bashing those that aren’t his enemy as well. Amongst his war party, the “Braks Purple Def Eata’s”. Glarnk is known to be the Bashiest Ork in the galaxy.

This reputation of Glarnk’s has been getting up the nose of Brak the Warboss, as nobody likes a show off.

Brak has devised a clever plan in order to bring Glarnk down a peg or two. He has sent Glarnk off to battle in the next planet over which is rumoured to be infested by many non Ork races. It is Brak’s most secret wish that Glarnk gets squished. If he doesn’t get squished the Brak has claimed 80% of all the loot collected.

Not to make Glarnk too suspicious Brak has given him the use of the burna runts, being 3 killa kans armed with Scorchas to escort Glarnk new Shoota boy unit known as Dark’s Shoota boys. Unfortunately Drak is with the shoota boys to an unexplained axe-e-dent to the back of his head.

Glarnk used to have his own unit of slugga boys, but lost them in his previous skirmish with some space marines. Well he didn’t really lose them, he know exactly where he left the cowardly buggers. That’ll teach them for running away.

[Brak also reluctantly gave him 5 Lootas for back-up. After all, if there is looting to be had Lootas are a good thing.

These gifts have made Glarnk’s head swell insufferably. This has made Brak snicker a lot. Nobody likes a show off.

30 shoota with nob with 3 big shootas

3 Killa Kans with shorcha

5 Lootas

Your list is a bit slow.

Why not just take 53 orks and try to time out and claim the objectives?

if you didn't finish on time both sides got no points.

Yep the army was a bit slow, however slow and steady seemed to win the race.

I won 3, lost 3 and drew 1. so over all a good result

It seems solid, but I would prefer to have 2 scoring units. I would go something like this.

14 shoota boyz
-1 nob

14 hoota boyz
-1 nob

3 Killa kans
-Skorchas

-5 Lootas

As long as you keep the kans in front of the boyz than you won't have to worry about taking heavy losses and loosing fearless.

As for the fluff on the second nob (the one leading shoota boy unit 2) you can just say the warboss wanted one of his own body guards to keep an eye on him, make sure he's not holding out on the loot.

Well done! Strictly speaking you can win leagues with those results.
