I have several paints that i don't use that often but i don't want to have to spend extra money on buying new paint. I was wondering if anyone knew if paint-thinner would work? i have douts about using water, as i can see it drying up within maybe two weeks.
Do you know of anything

I have a paint pallet that I use to keep the paint I'm working with wet while the paint pot is closed. I have the same GW paints that I bought when I first started the hobby, some have dried from time to time (GW paint pot seals aren't that great) but I have been able to solve that by mixing a little water and thinner into the dried paint. The paint after that is as good as new. I hope this helps! BTW- This is not really a tutorial, so I've alerted a mod to move this to the right section!

Guilliman and the Ultramarines are like Manchester United, everyone hates them because they are so awesome!

I would suggest chaing the paint pots. I hate the GW/citadel paint bottles. If you have any old Coat ' de Arms or P3 paint bottles use those as they are basically the old GW paint pots. My badmoon yellow and terracotta are still good after 20+ years.

I place all of my pots of GW paints in a large, air-tight, plastic container which keeps them from drying out really well.

I store mine upside down. a little bit of the paint does harden near the the cap and it forms a very effective seal.

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.

I let a dozen or so GW paints sit in a garage for 5 months, and took them out last week...none had dried out.

I've no issues myself either. Same GW paint pots since I started: about a year and a half ago.
Try a drop of acrylic retarder per pot (the stuff is potent, take heed!)
Otherwise, if that doesn't work, something else is wrong. I would switch to other paint storage (different pots, or an airtight container like was mentioned above.)
Good luck
