Hello all,

Of all the books in the Horus Heresy which novel or novels do you feel features the most insight to the personalities of the Primarchs? There are several examples of a Heresy book where many pages are written in the eyes of a primarch.

Which book do you think shows light on the relationships with eachother?

Spoiler:
My new favorite example(upon a second read) of The First Heretic.
Lorgar was obviously explored from the perspective of a captain of the Word Bearers and in other scenes. I really enjoyed the portion of the book where Lorgar has a conversation with his brother Magnus and the start of the books was simply spectacular and I could actually understand Lorgar's seriously pissed off attitude to his brother Roboute Guilliman (and I am pretty much never in favor of the Chaos Primarchs). I thought it was a great read.

I really want to hear some thoughts from you guys as I am new to the forum and want to learn (didnt realise so many people know Warhammer Lore like you guys do). What book would you choose that best showcased what it was like in the shoes of a Primarch?

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I don't believe the first post contains actual spoilers, but if I did, can you please tell me how you use the spoiler tag on this forum? (where it says it is a spoiler and allows you to click to agree to see it)

Thousand Sons
Spoiler:
Best book I have read thus far about the Thousand Sons, Many manly tears were shed. But my favorite quote has to be when the Fire Order guy was in the Titan and said "Oh Throne no." Then he exploded. I actually set the book down and laughed at that, because if there was anyway to go. That would be it. Apart from being stuck inside of the Titan. :/

Thousand Sons is one of my favorites as well, if I made a pre-heresy army it would be based on them. Thanks, and made the spoiler optional. Appreciate the help

From what I have read so far, either Fulgrim or the First Heretic displays the respective primarchs the best. Fulgrim gives details on Ferrus Manus as well. And the First Heretic goes through the eyes of Lorgar quite often, something that seems to not happen as much as it should throughout the series.

The worst is easily The Flight of the Eisenstein. I learned next to nothing of Mortarion. A shame really, as Death Guard are my favorite pre heresy Astartes.
