After doing some games and some tweaking I've come to a list I'm comfortable with but still feel there could be some tweaking around in.

HQ

Overlord- Mindshackles, Scythe, Weave, Orb 160

Court - 3 Harbingers of Destruction, Solar Pulse 125

Elites

8 Lychguard - sword and board 360

Triach Stalker - Heavy gauss cannon 165

Troops

10 Immortals - tesla carbines 170

10 Immortals - gauss blasters 170

5 Warriors - 65

5 Warriors - 65

5 Warriors - 65

Fast Attack

5 Scarabs - 75

5 Scarabs - 75

Heavy Support

Annihilation Barge - gauss cannon 90

Annihilation Barge - gauss cannon 90

Doomsday Ark - 175

1850 total.

The basic idea is the Immortals would march with the Lychguard down the field, covered by the three warrior squads hanging back providing eldritch lance shots at a target hit by the triach stalker. Scarabs would do what scarabs do best and the barges would flank infantry elements, softening them up for whatever the Immortals hit. I'm not entirely sure where the doomsday ark can fit in, it often gets focused down fairly early in the game or immobilized, thus not being able to shift direction. I've considered swapping it out for 3 spyders to add to the scarab swarms but not sure yet.

So yeah now that guy is gone....

Pretty solid looking list. Only thing I would change is that I'd give the Stalker a Heat Ray over the heavy Gauss cannon, just for flexibilty (plus a double shot multimelta will ruin most vehicles day)

If the doomsday ark isn't working out for you then try a monolith. It may not be the beast it used to be but It will provide ample distraction for the rest of your forces if you DS it into enemy lines, with the bonus that if it survives you can lay down the hurt.

The HQ is alright, the rest could do with some work.

Firstly the Lychguard, these guys are going to struggle to get into combat. You need a Cryptek with a veil.

Triarch Stalker should keep the heat ray. Losing two shots of melta for a lascannon isn't a trade off. You're hampering the Stalkers destructive ability for the purpose of twin-linked.

I don't understand why people take 5 Warriors on foot, honestly. I just cannot see how they last. Everyone knows that 5 Marines on foot don't get any where so why 5 Necron WArriors?

You';ll find the Scarabs won't do a lot in combat because they are too small units and easy to kill. Combine them for a bigger damage output and asborbing unit. If you do reach combat then you'll probably have 3 swarms left, these will knock out 15 attacks which 8 will hit, you will need drop the armour down on a tank by 4 points.

The heavy support are nice choices (except Doomsday Ark) however these are the only vehicles (besides the Stalker) in your army and anti tank will be firing at these. I would drop these and stick with a all infantry army and get Canoptek Spyders, these will also help your Scarabs too.

I expect to see Sniper Stalkers paired with Heavy Destroyers, so that you can keep them all out of the medium range weapon bubble while benefiting from the Stalker's twin-linking benefits. If you're just running the Doomsday Ark then you're better off going with the Heat Ray option (and a second Stalker, in all honesty).

Otherwise, Mercer is pretty much spot on with his comments.

The problem with the Stalker with a gauss cannon is it's a single shot, if it doesn't hit then no twin-linked. Having it at 24" range is fine as most of Necrons guns are 24" range anyway.

I agree that it's not the optimal choice. The idea is that the Stalker can use the Heavy Gauss Cannon to offer support while staying out of range of mid-range return fire, but in practice you would have to exercise really good table control (or run multiple Solar Pulses) in order to make that pay off.

Well it's a twin linked right? So you have about an 88.9% chance of hitting with it. Like another poster said I think the TLHGC Stalker works really well with 3 HD's hanging around with it. Point and click destruction.

It is twin-linked, you know about dice rolls and all that. Like I said, most Necron stuff is 24" range and you don't want to change a two shot multi melta for a single lascannon and pay more points.

Ah yeah, forgot about this but yeah I've scrapped that list a while ago. Lychguard never got into combat and were shot apart, several hundred points down the crapper each game. Pretty much started from scratch.

Overlord: Phaeron, weave, scarabs, scythe, res orb 180

Overlord: weave, scarabs, scythe, res orb 160

Royal Court: 3 harbingers of destruction, solar pulse 125

Royal Court: 2 harbingers of destruction, solar pulse 90

Triach Stalker: heay ray 150

10 Immortals, Tesla 170

10 Immortals, gauss blasters 170

10 Warriors 130

10 Warriors 130

10 Warriors 130

10 scarabs 150

Annihilation Barge, gauss cannon 90

Doomsday Ark 175

Pretty much advance and destroy. Got over the 'OHHHHH shiny' syndrome.

Hmm...Big 20 man Necron Blob hard to kill, Doomsday Arc is A LOT of points for just one large blast a turn...just sayin...not a big fan of it.

lol.

What does it contain? 60 flayed ones with Doom Scythe support, backed up by destroyers?

Post it up, or GTFO.

@ Kurgash

The latest list is better, but your still a bit light on AT. I'd drop the Doomsday ark for either 3 Spyders, or another Annihilation barge.

The Overlords really just want a Scythe, Mindshackle and Weave, then they can cruise around in Barges swiping stuff. If you want one to hang with your Immortals, consider Zandrekh, he's about the same cost as your Phaeron Lord and can hand out Tank hunters or whatnot to your troops, while taking away USR's from your opponent. He's not a Phaeron himself, so you'll have to run him with Teslamortals though.

I would drop the Doomsday Ark and pick up more Scarabs/Spyders and another Annihilation Barge. Having played against several Doomsday Arks on multiple occasions I can tell you they just don't do what you want, they suffer from the same problem as Demolishers and Vindicators. Take 3 or take 0.

Jabbdo has some good advice as normal, Mercer too.
