Just saw it. Though I can see what the intention was, the end result is a little too understated and mater of fact. Granted, the fight scenes are a lot more realistic than most in movies today, the impression of the film as a whole was sort of like one of those docudrama recreations you see on the InvestigationDiscovery channel. If it were a recreation of actual events, I would appreciate that dedication to realism, but as a work of fiction, it's all a little too low-key. By the way, Gina Carano's acting talent is still developing, but I can see great potential.

I'd rather see Gina get back into the octagon. The shemale that everyone knew was roided up and had kicked Gina's ass and took her belt in her last fight has been exposed as a... well, roided up shemale. Womens division, if it sticks around, is hers for the taking if Christianne Santos is banned for life or suspended for a decent amount of time.

With that said, this movie has gotten decent reviews, suprisingly. I doubt I'll check it out at the movies, but I'll definitely rent it!

Is it sexist to say that i never watch Hollywood action movies with female leads because it's just too ridiculous?

I can't get away with watching birds fill gangs of blokes in. It's ridiculous and fills women's heads with delusions of grandeur and then matty is forced to defend himself when they assault him, mash his scalding cheesy chips into their faces and then run all the way back to camp persued by a gang.

We are arming Syrian rebels who support ISIS, who is fighting Iran, who is fighting Iraq who we also support against ISIS, while fighting Kurds who we support while they are fighting Syrian rebels.

But because of all this, we get to watch hordes of drunk girls who think they can fight just because they've watched a few of these "Gurlpowerz" movies squaring off in a convenience store parking lot on Tru TV's show "World's Dumbest". THERE'S your real entertainment value.

By the way, Matty, what exactly do you do that females feel the need to attack you? I should probably state that a girl once perforated me with a fruit-coring knife and I was forced to strike her in self defense, so I'm not judging you, just curious.

I have absolutely no interest in chickboxing or whatever it is she's famous for, but it looks like a good movie based on the reviews I've read. There is a reasonably good chance of me going to see it this weekend.

Sorta? Besides, you're missing out on some good movies. Try Colombiana, 5th Element, Mr & Mrs Smith.
