so we went to our FLGS and she picked out a Reaper mini that matches her name and personality. (My daughters name is Seraphim)

so this was my attempt at it. I am please with how well it came out, I suppose I could have done more/better but I spent an hour on it and I'm about 90% satisfied with the results. especially for one to be handed to a 6 year old little girl.

it did me some good to paint again, all my hobbies are in limbo pending a move, so I went to my buddies house and borrowed his tools. all in all, I like it.

I did attempt to try some object based lighting on the wing, no thats not a smudge it was intentional. just trying the waters.

Try as I might I could not get her face to look unghastly, its very small and I'm just not that good.

I did dip the model just after the base coats to add some depth and seal the base colors in. after that it was detail work.

click on the pic to see it in the gallery.

questions comments criticism always welcomed!

OSL looks pretty good and I like the hair color. I do feel like another highlight on the purple skirt would do a lot to add more detail to her. What do you plan to do for the base?

Hair color is very similar to my daughters natural dirty blonde.

I had considered doing a pink/purple highlight on the skirt, as I have not alot of good experience on fabics i'm watching a bunch of tutorials right now.

for the base, a VERY good question. I was considering using that bottom piece as a puff of air and doing some ice blue/white highlights to it, BUT, I think i'll just go over it again in a lighter blue, and glue on some cotton swabs, maybe make the whole model look as though its descending through a cloud.

then again, I really have no idea!

its no shelf queen, so I don't want to spend too much time on minute details. my daughter is 6, and IS going to be using it to play with.

I think its best I leave it mostly alone. its painted, she enjoys it, and i'll spend some time on the next model.
