I am starting a Tomb King army soon, and I was thinking sphinxes, I wanted to know the answers to a few of the following questions please answer sincerely and if you could help me out that would be great

1) What are better, Necrosphinxes or Warsphinxes?

2) would an army where you use as many as you can fit in, (say 2400 Points for example) be competitive. This would include 2 Necrosphinxes, as many war sphinxes as my special will allow and maybe 1 war sphinx for a hero, but this will have to include 25% core and competitive hero choices.

3) What are the advantages and Disadvantages of Necrosphinxes?

4) What are the advantages and Disadvantages of Warsphinxes?

If you could answer any of these I would be very great ful

The main difference between Necrosphinx and Warsphinx is roles.
Necrosphinx kills monsters / Characters etc.
Warsphinx kills infantry.

Also, Sphinx-spam sounds very viable. However, as mentioned, cannons etc. Will give you a rough time, and static combat res. Might too.

Core could be archers for heirphant to bunker in, so that covers core, or chariots for a king.

I was thinking a single very large unit, with a prince, necrotect and high liche priest

TK should avoid the big eggs in one basket unit due to dwellers and such. Loosing ones king and hiero would be disastrous

If you're going Sphinx bash, always take a Necrotect. If he's close enough (12" bubble) they get Regen 6+. If you take Ramhotep, you get that and re-rollable armour for one of them.

Don't mind JC's comment too much. There's going to be some unavoidable eggs-in-basketing going on, simply because you'll want to bunker your Heirophant as well as you can.

Something to think about is also that Constructs get -1 to resolution damage- add a BSB and that's -2 to resolution damage, making them that much more survivable. Add in Regen helping out, and magic healing them up...

But yeah, take a block of Archers or Horsemen Archers for your core, and stick your Heirophant in with them. Maybe add some sloggin' skellies, Heavy Horsemen or Chariots for flavour- but you'd be able to get 6-7 Sphinxes if you wanted, probably 3 in Special, 2 Necros in Rare, 1 for a King and one for a Prince if you wanted.

GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

I guess it sort of depends on what kind of a list you want to use? Heavy close combat? Shooty? Horde Style? Entombed Beneath the Sands?

I'll toss up 2500 points of what would be considered a "Balanced List" A little of everything to handle all comers.

Tomb Prince 100
tomb Prince 100
Liche High Priest 175

Core
39 Skeleton Warriors, HW/SH/LA 195
Full Command 30
38 spearmen/la 228
Full command
6 Chariots 330
Full Command 30
30 Archers 180
Standard, Musician

Special
1 scorpion 85
2 War-Sphynxes 460
--Both have Firey Roar
4 Carrion 96

Rare
2 Screaming Skull Catapults.180
1 Casket of Souls 135

you have 146 points to spend on your characters, do whatever you want, but I reccommend fire-wards on the heroes, and a 4th level on the liche priest to start. This list is balanced, and pretty fun to look at on the table.

Never never never take sphinxes on characters. It actually makes them worse

I imagine so. Tomb Kings aren't meant to be ridden, and I don't think the Princes would be able to handle the weight all that long.
