When a vehicle explodes and it hits units within d6 inches, how does this work for units in a building?
I've had about 30 models hit by an exploding vehicle, having them hit on every level seems phenominal, considering even a Demolisher cannon only hits one level, yet the explosion is only S3 AP -.

In ruins, the vehicle explosion's 'shots' simply hit unints in range. Generally 3" up/down is a level, and angles mean it hits a good amount less.

They cannot be in buildings, nor in upper ruin levels.

I'm assuming you mean ruins, and not intact buildings. Based on the fact that explosives that use the blast marker can only hit 1 floor, I would argue that only the models on hte ground floor would be hit. However, YMMV.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

It is not a blast marker, it is every unit in range.

Like I said, I was using that as a precedent.

Fair enough; any reason for that?
It states it is (treated as) a shooting attack, why add blast rules as well?

Not really, though re-reading I'm afraid I must change my mind. Besides needing (at best) 4+ to Wound, and most of the models on other floors are going to have at worst a 4+ save, it really isn't all that threatening. Unless like me you roll nothing but 1's, 2's, and 3's, and your best armor save is 4+.

You mean every Model in range.

For models in a ruin you measure the explosion and see who is hit.

For Buildings you hit the building, but the models embarked are not hit
