I recently got the citadel gaming hill for my birthday, but I'm a bit fuzzy on the rules with the terrain. First off - Moving into, through, or out of it, you roll D6 instead of just moving, correct? Being difficult terrain?
Also, it has these... cliffs. Would those invoke a dangerous terrain test?
And as for the sides, I've noticed that my bases like to slide off of it due to the slope - should I take anything from that, or is it just something I should ignore, and will that stop once I flock it?

It will be lessened by flocking. They will still slide if they are heavy and metal (and scrape the flock off when they do).

I think my club has two of them (are these the big ones, where you need two of them to make the really big hill?).

Spray primer, textured paint, flock and VARNISH to lock it all down worked a treat to stop even trays sliding down them.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

Hills are generally not difficult terrain, unless you and your opponent agree otherwise. 2D6 pick the highest for difficult terrain

Buy foam cutter, buy 1 battery, buy foam. $ 10?

Makes you more hills than you can buy from GW for $100

I've played one person who insisted that hills were both difficult and dangerous terrain for everyone but him and gave cover from the flat level bit on top. For some reason, even the TO agreed with him (on all of it).

Everyone else I've played with does it like this:

"Behind the crest of hill" =/= ON the crest.
It means you have the highest bit of the hill in front of you providing cover. If you are ON the crest, then YOU are the tallest thing on the hill and are in the open.

This is why I add scrub and lichen to the flat bits on top. THEN they get cover - but it also counts as diff terrain.

The way my group has always played it is that there's no difficult terrain test for moving just over the slope, but there is if their move takes them over the steep, rocky part.

Usually we play it as normal terrain that can provide cover, but I have never played it as difficult for the slope.

I saw a game some people played online the other day where one person insisted that it was difficult and dangerous and that he was a big tournament player and that was how all GW tournaments treat the terrain.

Blood for the bloo... wait no, I meant for Sanguinius!
