My brother plays Tau and I play Orks. He likes to sit and set up fire'n lines and wait for me to come into range. Now myself do not get a thrill outa this due to the fact my army is still growing and when I play 500-1000pt games my armies are small. (He is still building up and learning to play so the games are small.). I try to play alota troops and then maybe a trukk boyz squad or storm boyz but the lil turd never seems to want to move... like from the deployment till the end of the game some of his troops dont move at all. My plan is to max out my Boyz to 29 + Nob and jus simply walk them acrost the field. Still I know Ill take alouta hits but that way hell be forced to play instead of sit there. Yesterday I playd him and the only thing that moved was his HQ (sideways) and his drones (moved once). Are there any sanerios (sp?) where he would be forced to move into battle? or jus move at all would be great! I know this is not gunna win him alota friends on the 12th with we plan on going over if he sits all game... maybe a heavy terain board would give me abit of an advantage and make him rethink his stragedy Any suggestions are welcome! Thanks, -OrkSpork

look, no offence, but thats what tau are supposed to do. all they do is fire and fire until either they or the enemy are all dead. i understand, i play orks, but tau are SO ANNOYING!!! just try using kommandos to infiltrate behind them, tau in close combat are crap lol.

mmm tau, fun army to slaughter. with my orks ive thrown out small groups of bikers, a trukk full of boys to get their warriors into CC so theyre worthless, buggies and trakks, go around their tanks and try to blow them up while tank busters are blasting them. march grots infront of my orks to take up some damage(and to see the little guys actually do well in CC) then the 30 boy groups whack the enemy to death. whenever i play them again, im gonna see how a wierdboy deepstriking a group of 30 boys well do. kans and looted tanks are fun just to see how they'll take care of them. dont spend lots of points maximizing stuff out(atleast i dont, i hardly care about the little green bastards anyways!). i personally dont take the stormboys, they always piss me off. ask if you think you want more advice, even with other armies vs orks

mmm - can someone move this to tactics please?
The only fiction here is that tau are at their best when stationary....

While you sleep, they'll be waiting...
Have you thought about the Axis of Evil pension scheme? |

Why not use trukks and bikes were you would be very close to him in one or two turns? this would remove his shooting and make him sweat it out in assautl (which we know the goat footed tau are bad at, but i have seen a fire kill a sm in assault very lucky)

Now that's threadmancy in it's finest form. Krusha123, please take more notice of the post date of older posts - this question was posted over 2 years ago and the original poster is probably long gone by now! Locking thread.
